CNAME not pointing to Tumblr

Hi, thanks for taking the time to read my question.

I have looked through other questions on this topic and tried all suggested solutions but haven't been able to get any of them to work.

I would like to reconnect my subdomain to my Tumblr. It has been connected for years now and I briefly removed it this morning to test something out, and now would like to replace it. I have connected the domain to Tumblr on GoDaddy and have added in the the domains.tumblr.com CNAME as Tumblr told me to.

However I am still getting this error message on Tumblr when I try to connect: "This subdomain’s CNAME is not pointing to Tumblr. Please change the CNAME to: domains.tumblr.com"

Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get this working? I am not very technical so please treat me like a real dumb-dumb who needs to be told exactly what to write in which box!

Hi @Elisabeth1,

Welcome to the Community!

While we do not have a help article expressly for the use of subdomains with Tumblr, we found these two articles online that might help you out.
