Configuring DNS for domain, subdomains hosted locally and for SSL - no cpanel - just iis

Hi:

I am not sure if i am doing things correctly. My wildcard SSL and Domain name are purchased from GoDaddy but my website is going  use iis and contain subdomains and hosted on my local server.   I need SSL on a website that a software vendor will be installing for remote access

  • I am not sure if I am configuring my DNS correctly on GoDaddy and if I should be pointing anything else to my Static Public IP Address.  I configured A records under DNS at GoDaddy. I am assuming I just need to enter the subdomain name and not the whole web address. I pointed to my Public IP address.
  • Do I need to create CName records for the sub-domains?
  • I am not sure if I should be configuring anything else with my domain name at GoDaddy to use https://. I obtained the certificate for the wildcard SSL and installed it on my server.
  • I have no cpanel as my websites will be hosted on my local server under iis
  • Do I need domain / sub domain forwarding?

I cant seem to see my website externally at this point so i am just verifying that i have everything setup correctly.  When i try to access my website externally i get Server IP address could not be found error and on the subdomain I get page took too long to load..so obviously i have things to iron out. Internally i can see my domain and test subdomain.
