Nameserver update to use godaddy

We have a domain which was originally registered in another company.  We were able to successfully transfer the registration to godaddy.  Upon checking, the nameservers are still with the old company.  How do I change this so that godaddy will be our nameserver?  Will this impact our email server? and how long does it usually take to update such records?

Re: Nameserver update to use godaddy

Hey there @nragandap!

Here's a handy-dandy guide on how to change your nameservers.

It will impact your email if the MX record isn't updated accordingly. Here's a guide on that.

Propagation time once a DNS change is made is between 24-48 hours officially. Typically, propagation is complete within an hour or less, though.

Best Regards,

Joe
