Pointing my domain to my Facebook or Twitter account?

I just read that I can point my domain to my facebook or Twitter account - what does this mean ??? Coz I've never heard of such a thing

No, it's a redirect.  So if someone types in yourname.com they'll end up on facebook.com/yourname for example.  You can technically forward to just about any page you want.  This is an option if you do not have a website, it's often used for personal domains just intended as a unique email address or a business startup that wants to get news and information out before their website launches.

If you do not have a website for the domain you can forward it to your Facebook or Twitter page.

Doe this mean that I'd then have a website url to my fbk or twitter page (instead of its' Normal fbk or twitter page link/url ???) Are we allowed to have a website url/custom domain to our social media pages ???!? 😨
