GoDaddy’s Community includes people from a wide variety of experiences, ideas and backgrounds so it’s important to be respectful, kind and patient especially nowWe need to come together and help each other.

The guidelines below will help you and our entire community to have the best experience possible.

No political or medical conversations. Keep on topic about small business challenges and solutions. See all of the recommendations from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on how to protect yourself. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prepare/prevention.html

* Keep it clean. Vulgar, obscene, profane, or otherwise offensive posts are not welcome.

* No spamming. Do not post the same topic or post repeatedly.

* Keep promotions in designated areas. Do not create new topics for the purpose of advertising your website(s) or business. You may, however, promote your business/website(s) in your user profile or signature and specific threads.

* Be supportive. Show your appreciation by giving “Kudos” to helpful posts. If a Community member answers your question, mark it as an “Accepted Solution.” Try to welcome new members to the Community and offer help if you feel comfortable doing so.

Thanks for putting this together.  Our small businesses in a little mountain town here in Alaska are really thinking out of the box to stay open for their customers. I've shared this with several so they can push this out to their customers who may also be small business owners....community support building for small business. As Red Green noted, 'We're all in this together.' Yes. We are. And the employees. And the customers. And our neighbors.  Thank you!  Good job!

Hi @Woolwood! Welcome. I've been to Alaska many, many times as my sister lives in Anchorage. What town do you live in and what kind of business do you own?

I live in Palmer, about 45 minutes north of Anchorage.  I'm now retired from a perennials nursery business. But, I've been an educator in Soc.Sciences, an artist, garden columnist, spent several years coordinating a large garden and art fair, and am an active AARP volunteer advocate lobbying our legislature on issues pertinent to seniors. I'm used to looking for solutions and support and passing what I've learned along to others.

This is a time for creative focus for businesses and their communities. It's especially important for online businesses to remember their local communities and show a 'face' there. You never know if there's a potential customer among them. But, don't just think in terms of dollars now. That only jams up your creativity with stress. This platform, and others like it, can seed a nice bed of creative solutions that can go beyond business. Don't panic. Germinate ideas, instead.

Great @Woolwood! I've been to your town many times. Was up there last year in June visiting my sister and went to a couple of thrift shops in Palmer. Sounds like you a jack-of-all-trades! Wow!

Totally agree that it's time for creativity! We're trying to support our locals businesses as much as possible right now. Take care and let us know how you're doing!

If you stopped in at The Garden Gate shop on a Monday, we've probably met in person! I'm not there anymore and neither is that wonderful shop. But, give us a holler if you're ever in the neighborhood! You can find me on Facebook, too. Woolwood Studio and Gardens.

@Woolwood Don't think I stopped at The Garden Gate shop. I'll ask my sister though. She'll remember if we have. When this is all said and done, and I get back to Alaska, I'll definitely let you know.

Thanks for sharing @Woolwood !  Sounds like you have lots of experience with community involvement, which is great!  Was the garden that you coordinated community oriented?   Sounds like a fun experience.

We are all here to share, learn, teach, help in whatever manners possible.  Thanks for your post!

P.S. - If you find my answer helpful, please feel free to give kudos.

I'm loving the information that GoDaddy has created. I've shared it with my 1200+ clients who are local professionals across North America.

Did you know: Parkbench.com is a FREE platform for local businesses to promote their (new and changing) products, services, events, deals, sales, and specials....no strings attached. There are 182k local businesses using it. It can be a great resource to help educate your (own) local community about the changes your making, and promotions you're offering to stimulate business.

As the co-founder, CEO, and having owned numerous small businesses (hence why I created this FREE version of Yelp meets groupon meets nextdoor....I'm coming up with NEW features to help small businesses get through this and it is 100% completely free to use (because we have generous local professionals who "sponsor" their community so that we can provide the service for free)

Onwards and upwards everyone! Stay healthy and safe!

So is it only for local businesses? Does it mean those out of North America cannot participate?

@Mompreneur1, Great question! This forum is for anyone, anywhere. Doesn't have to be in the United States. Hope that helps! Please let us know if you have any other questions.
