I have a GoDaddy domain and just bought a 2-year SSL, thinking that it would be easy enough to link them even though I do not have GoDaddy hosting.
Now, I am stuck with the box where I have to input the CSR. I am using AWS for hosting and am having issues generating the CSR.
I saw elsewhere on the forum that apparently GoDaddy CAN help you link the SSL and domain even without hosting, but was just told via Chat Help that I have to have hosting. Can someone clarify which is true?

Hi @kasta,
Thanks for posting. An SSL cannot be installed through the domain alone, you'll need to follow the steps in this guide. If you are having issues generating a CSR you'll need to reach out to your hosting provider.
