I have been trying to allocate my domain to a specific folder for my WordPress.
Let's say I want my website to be based on 'public_html/abc/' folder.
I know how to install WordPress and how to allocate to that 'abc' folder but if I try to go to my domain it only works AND shows www.mydomain.com/abc
My question is, how do I transfer my domain to that abc folder (so that 'abc' is not showing up in address bar) and I have to type only www.mydomain.com ?
Go to your cPanel, Click add on domains. Look for the domain that you want to update and click the pencil looking thing to the right of your domain. If done correctly, it should open a box that has a text box that says something like /public_html... change that to /public_html/abc
Thanks for your reply.
I have two domains, only one is showing up, unfortunately not the one I have to change.
I tried to add my second domain in the section 'create an addon domain', after inserting necessary information I get this 'Sorry, www cannot be used in subdomains. It is implicitly added to all newly created subdomains.'
Is there another way to add my second domain so it shows up in the section 'modify addon domain', then I would be able to modify to its root directory (using pencil).
Hi there @vlvlvv,
When you add an addon domain... only add the baseDomain.tld for example: google.com
Do not add the sub domain: www
