This month we were privileged to have Amy Masson of Sumy Designs present once again. This time the topic was "Automate Your Business and Get Double the Efficiency". This was an incredibly informative session, with tons of great information. Here are a few things you'll learn:
Amy is a WordPress web developer and the technical half of the Sumy Designs team. She graduated from Indiana University with a BS in Secondary Education with an endorsement in K-12 computer education. She started writing code in the early 80’s using her brother’s Commodore 64. She taught herself HTML her sophomore year of college by reading source code on other sites. While there, she created her first website.
After graduating from college, she took a job teaching computer technology to students in sixth through eighth grades. She spent four years teaching kids how to do everything from word processing, databases and spreadsheets, to desktop publishing, BASIC program, and more.
She left teaching when her first child was born, because she wanted to be a stay-at-home mom. Not long after, she designed a website for a friend. This launched her career as a website designer. Since 2006, she and her partner have created websites, blogs, and more and learned new skills with every project. Much of what she’s learned about web design is almost entirely self-taught. She prides herself on learning new and efficient ways business automation systems to save time and money.
Amy is married with two children. She’s an avid reader and enjoys running, having finished over 20 half-marathons and three full marathons.
