Edit the action button

Action buttons let customers contact you, schedule an appointment, or jump straight to a section on any page of your website—or any other site. You can also use action buttons to feature product categories (like Featured Products or New Arrivals).

  1. Go to your GoDaddy product page.
  2. Scroll to Websites + Marketing and select Manage next to your site.
  3. Select Edit Website to open your website builder.
  4. Go to the section with the action button, or add a section. Many sections can include action buttons, but not all. Introduction or Content sections will help highlight an action button.
  5. Select an existing action button on your website, or select Action Button in that section’s properties panel to add one.
  6. In the panel, select the toggle next to Show Action Button to turn it on (or off).

  7. Edit the Description using strong action words to grab attention. Use no more than 25 characters, if possible.
  8. Choose Link or Take Payments. This'll determine what happens when the button is selected.
    • Link: Direct visitors to any page, URL, phone number or email address. From the Link to dropdown list, select:
      • Page: Select any page on your site, even jump visitors to a specific section.
      • Website URL: Enter the destination URL (like coolexample.com) in the text box.
      • Phone: Select your area code from the dropdown list and then enter your phone number in the text box.
      • Email: Set the action button to prefill a new email message with your email address as the recipient, as well as a subject line and even a basic message, if desired.
      • Products: Use the Categories dropdown list to direct a visitor to a specific product category.
  9. Your changes are saved automatically. Use Preview to see the results, and when you're ready to make the changes public, publish your site.
