When you run an online business, you can have customers who live almost anywhere. But, you'll also need a way for them to pay you online that’s safe and secure.

The Websites + Marketing Premium plan allows you to get paid for online appointments, and the Commerce and Commerce Plus plans allow you to get paid for items in your store. However, you can still get paid even if you don’t have one of those plans. (Compare plans and pricing.)

You can accept online payments with GoDaddy Payments (including Apple Pay and Google Pay) or choose between other available payment processors. GoDaddy Payments customers also have the option to purchase point of sale (POS) devices or process Tap to Pay payments with the GoDaddy mobile app on iPhone or Android, which makes it a great option for in-person transactions.

  • Add payment for online appointments and events (Premium plan).
  • Add payment for online store products (Commerce and Commerce Plus plans).

Add a PayPal payment button

PayPal buttons allow you to sell a single product or enable customers to donate to a cause you choose. You can add up to 15 PayPal buttons to your website.

Note: If you don’t already have a PayPal account, use a separate tab or window to create a PayPal account.

The PayPal button on your site will work with either a personal or business PayPal account. (If you have online appointments or an online store, you’ll need a business PayPal account.)

  1. Go to your GoDaddy product page.
  2. Scroll to Websites + Marketing and select Manage next to your site.
  3. Select Edit Website or Edit Site to open your website builder.
  4. Go to where you want the PayPal button, and add a section.
  5. Search for PayPal Button.
  6. Select which layout you want and select Add.
  7. Select PayPal Settings and then type or paste your PayPal email address.
  8. Customize the button text, title, description, image, etc.

Remember to publish your site so your changes are visible to everyone else.

Add a gift card option

Another way to get paid online is to let people buy a gift card from you using Square.

Note: You’ll need a Square account. In a separate tab or window, create or open your Square account and find and copy your gift card URL.
  1. Go to your GoDaddy product page.
  2. Scroll to Websites + Marketing and select Manage next to your site.
  3. Select Edit Website or Edit Site to open your website builder.
  4. Add a section.
  5. Search for Gift Card and select Add.
  6. Select Gift Card Settings and then paste the Square gift card URL link.
  7. Customize the button text, title, description, etc. and even choose if you want to show connected social media accounts.

Remember to publish your site so your changes are live to everyone else.

Add payment for online appointments and events

If you have an online event, or offer consulting phone or video calls, then it’s important to get online payments.

Note: You’ll need at least the Premium plan to set up online appointment payments.
  1. Go to your GoDaddy product page.
  2. Scroll to Websites + Marketing and select Manage next to your site.
  3. From your Dashboard, go to Settings
    • If you’re already in your Website Builder, use the drop-down in the upper-left corner and then select Dashboard.
  4. Select Appointments and then Payments.
    • If you don't see the Payments option, select Overview.
    • Once you access your online store overview, the Payments link will be available in the Appointments dropdown menu.
  5. Follow the instructions to connect GoDaddy Payments, PayPal or Square.

Now all you need is to add some services (appointments or events) and an online appointment section.

Add payment for online store products

If you have an online store, you’ll need the either Commerce or Commerce Plus plans to accept online store payments.

  1. Go to your GoDaddy product page.
  2. Scroll to Websites + Marketing and select Manage next to your site.
    • If you’re in your Website Builder, use the drop-down in the upper-left corner and then select Dashboard.
  3. From your Dashboard, select Store and then select Payment Methods.
  4. Follow the instructions to connect to GoDaddy Payments, PayPal, Square or Stripe.
