Microsoft 365 from GoDaddy Help

Set mail destination for my domain at another company

If your domain name's with another registrar or your DNS is managed by another company, you need to update your DNS settings. You’ll need to add your TXT, CNAME and MX records before you can use your Microsoft 365 from GoDaddy account.

Step 1: Find your DNS records

  1. Sign in to your Email & Office Dashboard (use your GoDaddy username and password).
  2. At the top of your dashboard, you’ll see a banner saying your email can't receive mail yet. To see your DNS records, select Help me fix this.
select help me fix this in the banner on dashboard

Step 2: Add and update your DNS records

  1. Sign in to your account with your current DNS host. (Below are the instructions on updating your DNS records for providers that customers commonly use.)
  2. If you have existing SPF or MX records on your domain, remove them before continuing to the next steps and adding your GoDaddy records.
  3. TXT Record: Find where to add a TXT record, and then enter the details from your Email & Office Dashboard.
  4. CNAME Records: Find where to add a CNAME record, and then enter the details from your Email & Office Dashboard.
  5. MX Records: Find where to add an MX record, and then enter the details from your Email & Office Dashboard.
  6. To verify your new DNS settings, go back to your Email & Office Dashboard, and then select I’m Done. When your Microsoft 365 address is set up, we'll send you an email.

Most DNS changes take effect within an hour but could take up to 48 hours to update globally.
