Microsoft 365 from GoDaddy Help

Set up Microsoft 365 email with SMTP on a multi-function device

If you want to send email from a multi-function device, like a printer or scanner, you need to set smtp.office365.com as your SMTP Authentication (SMTP AUTH) server. Every time your device sends an email, it’ll use your credentials. You can set up SMTP with or without multi-factor authentication (MFA).

Select a tab based on whether you’d like to set up SMTP with or without MFA.

  1. Sign in to your Email & Office Dashboard (use your GoDaddy username and password).
  2. Enable SMTP Authentication for the user with the email address you're setting up on your device.
  3. If you have security defaults enabled for your organization, disable it.
  4. Enforce MFA for the user.
  5. Set up an MFA authentication method for the user.
  6. Create an app password. You’ll use the password to sign in to your printer or scanner.
  7. On your device or in its application, enter the following settings:
    • Server name: smtp.office365.com
    • Port: 587
    • Encryption method: STARTTLS
  8. Enter the app password to sign in to your account.

Your Microsoft 365 account will be set up on your device, and you can start sending email.
