Workspace Email Help

Troubleshoot Workspace Email setup on iPhone

Not being able to set up email can be really frustrating. Use these tips to fix any issues when setting up email on an iPhone or iPad.

Step 1: Make sure you can connect to Mobile Email

Use Mobile Email to confirm that you have an account and that your username and password work. Go to mobilemail.godaddy.com and sign in.

If you can't sign in, double-check that your email account is set up and you have the correct email address and password. You might need to contact the person who set up your email account.

Step 2: Reset your password

If you can't get into your email because your password is incorrect, reset your Workspace Email password. After resetting the password, try setting up the email account again.

Step 3: Double-check your settings

Double-check that you're using the correct incoming and outgoing servers (host names), email address, and password to connect to your email account.

Note: Make sure your email address/username and password are entered correctly, as some clients make these optional. They're required for the client to connect to our mail servers.

Your server names might also be different than our default settings, depending on which type of email plan you have and where you purchased it.

Step 4: Try different SMTP ports

By default, your device uses SSL and port 465 for SMTP. If you can receive email but can't send it on your device, double-check that you're using SSL and port 465. Sometimes ISPs or network providers block specific ports for security reasons. If the default settings don't work, you can try some alternate ports.

To change your iPhone or iPad SMTP port settings:

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Select the Mail app.
  3. Select Accounts.
  4. Select the Account you are troubleshooting.
  5. Select the Account name.
  6. Under Outgoing Mail Server select SMTP.
  7. Under Primary Server, select SMTP.
  8. If you have Use SSL turned on, use port 465. Otherwise turn Use SSL off, and try these other ports for SMTP: 80, 3535, or 25.
  9. Go back to Mail, and check if you can send an email. If not, repeat these steps and try a different port.

Step 6: Contact a GoDaddy Guide

If you've gone through these steps and still can't get your email account to work on your device, our GoDaddy Guides are here to help.
