GoDaddy Payments Help

Why are my payouts failing?

If you aren’t receiving payouts, you may have a bank transfer failure. Bank transfer failures can happen for several reasons, such as incorrect or outdated bank account information associated with your GoDaddy Payments account, insufficient funds in your bank account, closed bank accounts, or inability to debit. Learn more about these reasons below. We want to make sure your money is going to the right place - so if there’s an issue with the bank account linked to your GoDaddy Payments account, we will not be able to pay you out.

Why do I have a bank transfer failure, and how can I fix it?

There are several possible reasons. If you received an email titled “We’re unable to process your payouts due to an error”, the issue may be an incorrect routing/account number or closed account.

If you received an email titled “Action needed: We’re unable to collect funds from your account”, the issue may be insufficient funds.

  • Incorrect routing/account number: If the bank account information in your GoDaddy Payments account contains an incorrect routing or account number, we won’t be able to pay you out. Connect a new, active bank account to your GoDaddy Payments account to fix this. Once your account information has been updated, you will be able to receive payouts again starting on the next business day.
  • Closed account: We can't transfer money to a closed bank account. Connect a new, active bank account to your GoDaddy Payments account to fix this. Once your account information has been updated, we will begin paying you out again on the next business day.
  • Inability to debit: Your bank account may be set up such that it cannot be debited by external parties. You may have to contact your bank to change debiting permissions.
  • Insufficient funds: The bank account connected to your GoDaddy Payments account may not have sufficient funds to cover fees. When calculating your payout, we debit for fees at the same time – GoDaddy Payments fees are subtracted from that day’s sales. If the fees exceed that day’s sales, and your account does not have sufficient funds to cover those fees, we won’t be able to pay you out. In addition to fees, refunds to your merchants or chargebacks from your merchants can result in negative balances. Ensure your bank account has sufficient balance to cover these fees, refunds or chargebacks. Once your account has sufficient fees to be debited, you will be able to receive payouts again starting on the next business day.
  • Note: If we find you have insufficient fees 3 times within a one-month period, we will disable payouts until your information is updated.
